Description
Pen Eye Liner (or Felt-Tip / Liquid Liner Pen) offers the rich pigment of a liquid eyeliner combined with the control and ease of a fine-point marker. It is designed for creating sharp cat-eyes, precise wings, and tight lash-line definition.
Step-by-Step Application Guide
1. Prep & Priming
-
Ensure eyelids are completely clean, dry, and free of oils or heavy eye creams.
-
Dust a light layer of translucent setting powder or neutral eyeshadow across the lid to absorb natural oils and prevent transfer or smudging throughout the day.
2. Prep the Pen
-
Shake Well: Shake the pen firmly 2–3 times with the tip pointing down to flow the pigment evenly into the felt nib.
-
Check the Flow: If the tip feels dry, lightly tap or swipe it on the back of your hand to prime the ink flow before placing it on your eyelid.
3. Application Technique
-
Hold Sideways: Instead of drawing directly with the sharp tip perpendicular to your eye, tilt the pen horizontally and rest the side of the felt tip flat against your lash line. This provides maximum stability and a smoother glide.
-
Short Connecting Dashes: Draw short, overlapping dashes close to your lash roots from the center of the eye moving outward, then connect them inward toward the inner corner.
4. Drawing the Wing
-
Look straight into a mirror with your eyes open and relaxed.
-
Trace a thin diagonal line outward from the outer corner of your eye, pointing toward the end of your eyebrow as a guide.
-
From the tip of that flick, draw a line back down to connect with your lash line to form a triangle, then fill it in.
Storage & Pro Tips
-
Store Tip-Down: Store your liner pens cap-down or flat to keep the tip moist and saturated with product.
-
Cap Click: Always snap the cap tightly shut until you hear a click to prevent the felt tip from drying out.
-
Cleaning Mistakes: Let any smudges dry completely, then use a pointed cotton swab dipped in micellar water to sharpen the wing edge or correct mistakes cleanly without ruining your eyeshadow.
